Alexis Turnage, Chapter 8, Question #5
Wheelan quotes Robert Rubin, "The economic benefits of the tariff reductions we negotiated over the last eight years represent the largest tax cut in the history of the world." This quote stuck out to me because it basically talks about how we pay less for items that can be made better and that's how life is, they negotiated for 8 years and over for a large tax cut in the world. This is extremely interesting because every time I go into a store, someone either says we can get this "cheaper somewhere else" or "that's too expensive and it's not even a good quality" and that's where international trade comes from. Some people are cheap that we get items from different countries. For example, China is a great place to get fake purses, watches, shoes, clothes, etc. that will maybe look like the real deal.
